Meet Jen

Hi — I’m Jen. I’ve spent my career as a teacher (including years helping children learning English find their voice), and I’m a mom who knows exactly what bedtime looks like when everyone is one story away from sleep.

Sissy the Butterfly started as stories for the children in my own life. The meadow grew — there are six books written, and the first one is out in the world now. Each story is about the small kind of brave: trying again, being a good friend, finding the wonder in an ordinary afternoon.

Everything on this site — the stories, the printables, the songs — is made the way I made things for my classroom: carefully, warmly, and for grown-ups and children to enjoy together.

From me to you

I use modern tools to help make some of Sissy’s pictures and activities — the same way I used everything in my classroom cupboard. The stories, the world, and the heart are mine, and nothing reaches you until I’ve approved it.
